Clinton Lake, KS
In 2003, Clinton Lake tallied 3,722 volunteer hours with a total of $48,423.00
savings to the government. Volunteers ranged from individuals with disabilities
to college professors to cub scouts to senior citizens. Duties included tree
planting/pruning, mowing, painting picnic tables and shelters, assembling
playground equipment, setting fire rings and lantern hangers, litter pickup and
much more.
This was Clinton Lake's best year with the Volunteer Program with plans for
bigger and better things for next year.

Thanks to Dr. Joe Collins, world-renowned herpetologist from
the University of Kansas, for the campground programs he's done for the past
several years. With the fascination people have about reptiles and amphibians,
Dr. Collins consistently draws lake record crowds of 100-200 spectators for
campfire programs on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
