Crooked Creek Lake: Story by Paul Toman or Rick Mckee

project attracts swimmers, sunbathers, trail hikers, recreational boaters,
picnickers, campers and groups for both the organized group campground
and the Environmental Learning center. Along with these park attractions
also come a variety of volunteers to the park.
Sandra and Harold Mason enjoy the park so much, that they have volunteered
as campground host since 1991.Sandra and Harold assign sites, answer park
visitor's questions, inform campers of rules and regulations, issue
rent-a-ten equipment, and perform light janitorial services of the comfort
station during the week. They also pick up litter, clean fire grills
and rake the playground beds on a daily basis.
Sandra says, "I love Crooked Creek Lake! There is no place that I would
rather be than here." Harold also likes to welcome both old and new
visitors to the park. Both Sandra and Harold are very happy volunteers.
