Ducks Unlimited Greenwings Build Duck Boxes
for the Richard B. Russell Project

Story by : Stephen Sporer

Twenty-three Ducks Unlimited Greenwing members from Greenville South Carolina and numerous volunteers constructed 19 wood duck boxes at their annual Greenwing event. The boxes are to be placed around the shoreline of the Richard B. Russell Project and will provide nesting habitat for wood ducks and other cavity nesters

The Greenwings, lead by Bob Gibson, tripled their out put from a year ago when they constructed and installed six duck boxes for the project. Bob and the Greenwings currently are responsible for checking and maintaining the six boxes that were erected for the 2000-nesting season. The Greenwings will be responsible for installing the 19 new boxes and including them in their checking and maintenance program. The Russell Project is very fortunate to have a volunteer group as enthusiastic and dedicated as the Greenwings.
