Cleanup at Table Rock Lake

Table Rock Lake:  Story by Michael Richards

It is unfortunate that some peoples  method of  disposing of their trash, despoils the Ozark Mountains and the setting for Table Rock Lake.  Mr. Steve Fry decided that one person can make a difference in the continuing battle to cleanup what others spoil.  Each time he walked through Joe Bald Park, he noticed more and more trash being dumped.  He volunteered his personal pickup and recruited a friend to help with cleaning up Joe Bald Park on Table Rock Lake.

On October 30, 1999, Mr. Fry and Mr. Ryan Tyger began cleaning up Joe Bald Park.  When they had completed their task, they had removed two trash burn barrels, a washing machine, counter tops, plastic swimming pool and numerous bags of small trash picked up by hand.

Mr. Fry and Mr. Tyger proved that two people and a pickup can make a difference.  Through their determination and efforts, many others can once again enjoy the beautiful Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake.
