                                                          ** ATTENTION **

For safety reasons, access to the fisherman's platform at the Tailwater Right Bank Recreation Area below the Cordell Hull Lake power plant is temporarily closed until further notice, due to instability at this area and accumulated debris from the recent flooding.

Until repairs at the power plant fisherman's access and platform are complete, fishermen may instead utilize the other steps located directly downstream of this area in the Tailwater Recreation Area for foot access to the water.

The lake and rivers conditions are PARTLY CLOUDY with a 10% of rain  and the surface water temperature is 49 degrees Fahrenheit at Defeated Creek and 47 degrees Fahrenheit at the Tailwater.

Never go boating alone and always remember to wear your life jacket.

Fishing is fair.  Several crappie are being caught while fishing small jigs in laydown trees in 10-to-15 feet of water.  Sauger fishing is fair while fishing jigs in 40-to-45 feet of water near Gainesboro.  Several bass are being caught on crankbaits and jigs while fishing isolated stumps on points.
