US Army Corps of Engineers to meet with marina owners on Lake Cumberland 

NASHVILLE, TENN., (June 22, 2009) –  The US Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District will host a meeting with Lake Cumberland marina owners on June 25 in Somerset, Ky., the Corps announced today.  Representatives from the Corps will present a Wolf Creek Dam construction update, and allow time for a question and answer session with marina owners and operators. 

“This meeting will be a great chance for marina owners to ask questions of the Corps and to voice their concerns directly to us,” said Lt. Col. Bernard Lindstrom, Commander of the Nashville District.  The meeting is part of a visit to Wolf Creek Dam and Lake Cumberland by the Corps’ Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Commander, Brigadier General John Peabody.  Brig. Gen. Peabody will be present at the meeting to discuss issues with the marina owners, along with Lt. Col. Lindstrom and other Nashville District representatives.

The meeting will take place on June 25 at 1:30 pm EST at the Lake Cumberland Resource Manager’s Office, 855 Boat Dock Road, Somerset, Ky.  Media are invited to attend, and may contact the Public Affairs Office at 615-736-7161 for more information.
