This program focuses on the importance of respecting the environment, our natural resources, and creates better environmental stewards for the future! This is a chance for local school children to interact with many natural resource professionals from various agencies that are invited to serve as educators for the day.

  • Ready, Set, Inflate! and Boat Smart Super Saturday
    Saturday, May 19, 2012

    Coprs employees demonstrate inflatable lifejackets.Ready, Set, Inflate! is a nationwide event sponsored by the National Safe Boating Council and celebrated by boating and water safety enthusiasts around the world. Come participate in this Safe Boating Week kick-off event by inflating or putting on your lifejacket simultaneously with people across North America, Canada, and Australia.  Help us beat the world record, learn valuable life jacket and water safety information, and get set for a safe recreation season!

    Located approximately 10 miles south of Jamestown, KY on 
    Hwy 127 South, below Wolf Creek Dam

    For Ages 5 - 15   NO CHARGE!

    Fishing times
    9:00-10:00  Ages 5-6
    10:15-11:15 Ages 7-8

    11:30-12:30 Ages 9-10
    12:45-1:45 Ages 11-12
    2:00-3:00 Ages 13-15
    No poles will be furnished

  • Youth Deer Hunt Drawing

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partner with Kentucky Fish and Wildlife to hold a youth deer hunt in the Kendall Annex area below Wolf Creek Dam annually during the month of October. This is an either-sex, ARCHERY ONLY hunt. Doe tags will be provided to drawn hunters; however, bucks will count towards state-wide bag limit. Applicants must be between the ages of 13 – 17 and show a valid hunter education card.

  • 23nd Annual Lake Cumberland Cleanup

    Saturday, September 15, 2012.  Come help keep the environment clean by picking up trash and debris from the shoreline of the lake.  Free food, entertainment and prizes afterwards.  For more information call the Natural Resource Management Office at (606) 679-6337.

  • The Friends of Lake Cumberland, Inc.

    The Friends of Lake Cumberland, Inc. (FOLC), formed in 1990, is a non-profit, non-partisan group of volunteers interested in assisting the Corps in maintaining the natural beauty of Lake Cumberland through the removal of trash and debris from the shoreline.  In addition to an annual cleanup, an Adopt-a-Shoreline Program was developed for ongoing clean up of the shoreline.  Thousands of bags of trash, tires and debris are removed each year by volunteers.  The Friends use these programs as a hands-on educational tool to promote environmental awareness and personal responsibility for actions that may impact the environment through participation.  For more information about the FOLC, call the Natural Resource Management Office at (606) 679-6337 or write to:
