Day Use Fees

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at J. Percy Priest Lake charges a day use fee at selected recreation areas. The areas on J. Percy Priest Lake charging these fees are Cook and Anderson Road. These two areas offer sand swimming beaches, playgrounds, launching ramps, bathrooms, picnic sites and picnic shelters. The fees are $4.00 per vehicle for use of a boat launching ramp, swimming beach and other facilities. Current Golden Age/Access passport holders or individuals possessing the new America the Beautiful Senior or Access Pass will receive a 50% discount on these fees.

Payment of the fee will permit the use of similar day use facilities at any Corps project on the date of payment. A paid camping permit from a Corps operated campground will entitle the holder to use any designated day use facility without paying the day user fee on the day for which the camping permit is valid.

There is no fee for children under 12 years of age.

Annual Passes

Day Use Annual Passes are available for sale at the J. Percy Priest Visitors Center, at Anderson Road Day Use Area, and at Cook Day Use Area. Annual Passes cost $30.00. A half-price discount is given for the holder of a Golden Age/Access Passport or of an America the Beautiful Interagency Senior or Access Pass . The Annual Pass is good at all similar day use facilities at any Corps project.

Note: Not all recreational facilities on J. Percy Priest Lake are operated by the Corps of Engineers and thus the recreational fees charged, if any, are not necessarily compatible. Therefore, a camping permit or an entrance pass from Nashville Shores will not admit you into Cook Recreation Area. An Annual Pass for State Parks issued by Long Hunter will not admit you to Anderson Road Recreation Area. Likewise a permit or pass issued by the Corps will not necessarily admit you into Nashville Shores or Long Hunter State Park.

We regret that we cannot honor the Golden Eagle Passport. It is issued by federal agencies (including the National Park Service) who charge entrance fees and is an annual pass for entrance fees only. The Corps does not charge entrance fees, only use fees.
